Dr. Dave Rueter, DCE

Dr. Dave Rueter, DCE, serves as the DCE Program Director at Concordia University Irvine as well as Youth & Family Ministry Facilitator for the Pacific Southwest District.  Dave has served churches in Texas and California.  He is a husband and father of two boys who enjoys camping with his family.  Dave remains active in his church teaching a Sunday morning Bible study as well as volunteering with the high school youth ministry.

Getting Students Thinking in Youth Ministry:  Thinking in youth ministry?  Sounds like an oxymoron right?  Yet, we know that we need our youth to learn how to think in order to maintain faith in a world hostile to the Gospel message.   Learn how establishing a thinking climate in your church can help your youth grow deeper and dig deeper in their faith while helping to connect them more firmly to Christ and the life of your congregation. (Session 4)

Confirmation & the Family: Confirmation is often a struggle rather than a joy.  Churches suffer the heartbreak of youth dropping out of church following their Confirmation.  Drawing on his doctoral research, Dave will explore how connecting confirmation instruction to the home is essential in the formation of life-long disciples in our youth. (Session 2 & 9)
